Our Story
Doris Hunter
Log Cabin Antiques has always been a shop for real antiques inside a real antique: our shop is in a genuine log cabin outside Park Rapids, Minnesota.
Our founder, Doris Hunter, ran Log Cabin Antiques with vim and vigor from its opening in 1972 until her death in early 2009. Doris loved antiques and she loved her customers. She is greatly missed.
Doris always ran Log Cabin Antiques as a family affair, though, and every family member spent at least a little time behind the counter. Doris passed on her love for antiques and her customers, and now her son, Wayne Hunter, along his wife, Janet Hunter, and his sisters, Karen Reedy and Kay Adamson, are continuing the Log Cabin Antiques tradition.
Wayne Hunter is an experienced appraiser and licensed auctioneer as well as an avid collector and antiques dealer.
